Every individual allotted a Director Identification Number (DIN) as of 31 March of any financial year must complete KYC before the due date, regardless of whether they hold an active directorship. Non-compliance results in automatic DIN deactivation and a ₹5,000 penalty.

Visit mca.gov.in and log in with Business User credentials. Navigate to MCA Services → Company e-Filing → DIR-3 KYC or DIR-3 KYC-WEB.
Choose eForm for first-time, detail changes or reactivation. Choose WEB for annual KYC with no changes and active DIN.
Enter your 8-digit DIN. System auto-populates existing details. Verify name, DOB, PAN, Aadhaar/passport, nationality and address. Update if using eForm.
Enter OTPs sent to Aadhaar-linked mobile and registered email. Both OTPs must be entered within the validity period.
Upload address proof, photograph and any updated documents. Attach director’s DSC. Practising professional also attaches DSC and provides certification.
Review and submit. MCA generates a unique Service Request Number (SRN) for tracking. WEB processes instantly; eForm takes 1–2 working days.
Download filing acknowledgment. After processing, verify DIN status shows “Approved” using Check DIN Status on mca.gov.in. Retain SRN for records.
Automatic on 1 November 2025 (day after deadline). Director cannot sign MCA forms or accept new board positions.
Non-negotiable government fee charged on reactivation filing. Applies per DIN, not per company.
AOC-4, MGT-7 and board resolution forms can be blocked until DIN is reactivated.
Delayed AOC-4 / MGT-7 attracts ₹100 per day under Sections 137 / 92. Early filing prevents operational disruption.
Only the eForm (not WEB) can be used for reactivation. DSC and professional certification are mandatory.
Government penalty of ₹5,000 per DIN must be paid along with the eForm submission.
Complete Aadhaar/passport OTP and upload required documents. Processing typically takes 1–2 working days.
After processing, check DIN status on MCA portal. Once “Approved”, the director can again sign forms and hold directorships.
